Areas premier event will once again feature great prizes and competition

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 13, 2008) - The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the Buccaneer Athletic Scholarship Association will host the program's annual BASA All-Sports Golf Tournament May 4 at The Ridges Golf and Country Club.

The event - which will begin with registration at 10 a.m. and a shotgun start at 11 - will once again set a new standard that should be hard for other local spring and summer golf events to match. With their paid registration fee, players in this year's event will receive a club flight bag, men's or women's rain jacket, polo shirt, Dri-fit golf glove and a dozen golf balls all provided by Nike. That's nearly $350 in merchandise just for playing.

In addition, the amount and quality of both hole and door prizes will be unprecedented, with three $15,000 Hole-In-One Cash Prizes, as well as other gifts ranging from Nike Drivers to a Tag Heuer Tiger Woods Golf Watch.

During the event, boxed lunches will be provided by Heavenly Ham, and dinner will be catered at approximately 4 p.m.

"This tournament was a major step up for ETSU athletics a year ago, and we want to continue to build the event this year," said ETSU Assistant Athletic Director Kevin Bostian. "We have put a great deal of time and effort into planning this event, and we hope our fans and supporters will be able to participate. It is the premier event in the Tri-Cities."

As in years past, the event will feature several ETSU coaches and administrators, with many actually playing in the event. For more information, such as cost per individual or corporate rates, call Kevin Bostian at 423-439-5287 or e-mail at bostian@etsu.edu.
