JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 7, 2009) - Having covered college golf for the last 25 years, Golfweek senior writer Ron Balicki had been asked many times which players were the best he had ever seen. Relying on some of the college game's best coaches, manufacturer representatives, sports agents and journalists, a nine-person committee helped Balicki pick the "Best 25 of the last 25" years in college golf.

ETSU's three-time All-American Rhys Davies (Bridgend, Wales) was among this elite group, finishing 15th on the list of the best.

The names of each of the 25 players are being released on a weekly basis leading up to No. 1 which will be unveiled during Golfweek's May 30 edition, just before the 2009 NCAA Championships.

Davies, who was easily the most decorated golfer in ETSU history, holds nearly every school record, including sub-70 rounds (57), career scoring average (71.2), and 18-hole score (68). He was a three-time first-team All-American with 10 career victories and led the nation in 2005-06 with a 70.8 scoring average, while spending many weeks ranked No. 1 in the nation.
