WALLACE, N.C. (March 23, 2009) - Senior Lucy Gould (Bargoed, Wales) finished the day with a team-best score of 5-over-par 149 and tied for fifth on the individual leaderboard, leading the ETSU women's golf team to a tie for third place on the team leaderboard following Monday's first and second round play in the UNCW Lady Seahawk Golf Classic at the River Landing Golf Club.

Gould was one of three Buccaneer golfers to finish in the Top 10, with junior Laura Jansone (Jurmala, Latvia) tying for eighth at 6-over 150, while freshman Nina Muehl (Vienna, Austria) tied for 10^th at 151. Elon's Danielle Mills currently leads the event individually at 4-under-par 140 (72-68), while East Carolina holds the team lead at 598.

ECU is two strokes better than second place Elon, with ETSU just five strokes off the lead at 603.

Along with Gould, Jansone and Muehl, other ETSU results included a tie for 23^rd by junior Sinead O'Sullivan (Galway, Ireland), while freshman Mayte Vizcarrondo (Cadiz, Spain) tied for 25^th.
