Wednesday, May 27, 2009
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (May 27, 2009) - Head East Tennessee State University softball coach Andrea Mangrum announced a couple of changes for the Lady Bucs' upcoming All-Skills Camp on Wednesday afternoon. Mangrum has extended the registration deadlines for the June All-Skills camp and announced a special hitting instructor will be in attendance as well.
Originally, the registration dates for the All-Skills camp were scheduled for June 1 (for 12 and under) and June 3 for (13 and older); however, the two dates have been changed. The registration date for the 12 and under All-Skills camp has been moved to Wednesday, June 3, while the 13 and older registration deadline is now Friday, June 5.
Meanwhile, Mangrum is bringing in Hall of Fame Coach and renown hitting instructor Coach Nemo to teach hitting techniques at the All-Skills Camp from June 8-11.
Coach Nemo received his Masters Degree from Southern Oregon University and was a head baseball coach for 22 years with 18 winning seasons. He is the recipient of the number one new product of the year award, and the creator of Nemo's Speed Hitting Program, Nemo's Speed Training Bat and Nemo's Triple Hitting Tee. Three teams using his hitting program have won the state baseball and softball championships. Several of Nemo's baseball players have been drafted into the Pro's and numerous softball protégés have received scholarships to play at the collegiate level. The San Francisco Giants and the New England Riptides Women's Professional Softball Team have used Nemo's Speed Training Bats.
The All-Skills camp for the 12 and under group is still scheduled for June 8-9 and the 13 and older session takes place from June 10-11. The camp will last from 9 a.m. through 3 p.m. (with a lunch break provided) and costs $70.
