Olivares ranked No. 11 singles; along with senior Alex Ahlgren ranked No. 56 in doubles

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 19, 2009) - As the season moves on so has the ETSU men's tennis team's Atlantic Sun Conference winning streak that dates back more than three seasons ago. The No. 63-ranked Bucs will now put that 26-match unbeaten mark on the line Friday as ETSU travels to take on A-Sun foe Campbell at the Nisbet Tennis Center in Buies Creek, N.C.

ETSU (3-7, 2-0 A-Sun) enters the contest after dropping its only match last week 4-3, against No. 17 Wake Forest. In the match with the Demon Deacons the Bucs would have their chance to close out the contest with three match points, however Wake Forest would rally each pressure packed time pulling out the one point win. Individually, Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) continues to perform well moving up two spots this week in the latest ITA ranked poll. The senior captain dropped No. 31 Cory Parr of Wake Forest 6-4, 6-3 and has now won four straight singles matches.

In doubles action Olivares along with senior teammate Alex Ahlgren (Tyreso, Sweden) was also ranked this week by the ITA. The ETSU duo sits at No. 56, which is the highest doubles ranking among A-Sun members.

Campbell (10-4, 2-0 A-Sun) enters the contest amidst a five-match winning steak after dropping both Mt. Olive and Lafayette Tuesday. Individually, Davy Sum leads the way after posting a 13-1 singles record to start the season. Sum's only lost of the spring came against Clay Donato of No. 20 North Carolina, who also beat Olivares earlier in the season.
