JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 7, 2009) - Looking like its old self once again the ETSU men's tennis team continued to roll in Atlantic Sun Conference play dropping league foe Belmont 6-1, Saturday at the Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center in Johnson City, Tenn. With the win ETSU improves to 3-6 overall and 2-0 in A-Sun play, while Belmont falls to 4-5 overall, with a 0-2 A-Sun mark.

The No. 60th-ranked Bucs looked strong early picking up the doubles point and a 1-0 lead after winning both the No. 1 and No. 3 matches.

As singles play opened the Bucs continued to dominate as senior Enrique Olivares (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela) breezed past Belmont's Javier Rodriguez, 6-1, 6-0, for his third straight win. After sophomore Charles Bottoni (Bois Guillame, France) fell to Fausto Rochal the Bucs wouldn't look back sweeping the remaining singles matches.

Freshman Sander Gille (Kuringen, Belgium) continued his red-hot play dropping Joao Paolliello, 6-4, 6-1, while sophomore teammate Grega Teraz (Mojstrana, Slovenia) rallied past Rodrigo Amaral in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3. Freshman Jeremy Bonnevalle (Keerbergen, Belgium) continued to play well in his second collegiate contest picking up a straight set win against Rafael Matos, 6-0, 6-3, while freshman Robin Akser (Ornskoldsvik, Sweden) rounded out the ETSU scores after dominating Renato Antun, 6-0, 6-3.

After extending its conference winning streak to 26 matches this weekend the Bucs return to action March 12, as ETSU takes on nationally ranked Wake Forsest in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
