MACON, Ga. (Dec. 22, 2008) - Since arriving on campus junior standout Siarre Evans (Griffin, Ga.) has been a scoring and rebounding machine. Following her 20th career double-double in Thursday's thrilling 79-78 overtime win over Kennesaw State, the Griffin, Ga. native was named co-Atlantic Sun Player of the Week, announced Monday by the league office.

Evans posted a monstrous game over the Owls, as she finished with 19 points, 16 rebounds and five assists in the Lady Bucs' lone contest last week. The versatile player tied her career high in rebounds and set a season high in assists, while playing the entire 45 minutes inside the KSU Convocation Center.

The Sport Management major has posted back-to-back 16-rebound games and is the only player in the conference to be averaging a double-double. Evans - who leads the team in scoring (14.6) and rebounding (10.1) - also ranks third in scoring and first in rebounding amongst A-Sun players. The Griffin, Ga. native is now only 67 points shy of becoming the 16th Lady Buccaneer player to reach the 1,000-point club.

Evans earned the weekly honor for the fourth time in her career, marking the highest total of any active league player.

Joining Evans with A-Sun Player of the Week honors was Jacksonville's Courtney Jackson. Jackson was named MVP of the South Padre Island Shootout while leading JU to a 2-0 record and the tournament title. For the week, she averaged 18.3 points and five rebounds.

ETSU concludes a season-long five-game road trip on Sunday, Dec. 28, when the Lady Bucs travel to Winston-Salem, N.C. to face Wake Forest. Game time is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Memorial Coliseum.
