LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Oct. 3, 2008) - Junior Kenneth Rotich (Nairobi, Kenya) has his eyes set for a third straight individual title this weekend as the ETSU men's and women's cross country teams head west to compete in the 2008 Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday morning. The men begin the morning with a 9:30 a.m. 8K run from E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park, while the women follow with a 5K race at 10:15.

Rotich, who is coming off back-to-back individual titles at Charlotte and Mercer, finished 18th in this highly touted meet a year ago; finishing with a time of 24:32. The five-time Atlantic Sun Runner of the Week recipient also holds the top time in the league with his mark of 24:09, which was set last weekend at the Mercer RunFit Sports Invitational.

As a team, head coach David Walker's squad posted a seventh-place finish at Louisville in 2007, and Saturday's race will pin the Buccaneers against conference rival and six straight conference champion, Belmont, as well as a handful of other regionally ranked teams; including two-time defending champion and host Louisville. ETSU finished a respectable seventh last season on this course.

On the women's side, the twin duo of Tesha and Terra Haggard (Morristown, Tenn.) will guide the Buccaneers in the 5K run. Tesha is coming off her best collegiate race last weekend at the Mercer RunFit Sports Invitational. The Morristown, Tenn. native finished 15th overall with a time of 19:17.

Highlighting the women's field this weekend is host Louisville, Texas, and Vanderbilt.
