ETSU baseball to face Radford

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 7, 2009) - The ETSU baseball team is set to head to Radford, Va. to take on the Radford Highlanders Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Dedmon Center Park.

 

The Bucs (14-14, 6-9 A-Sun) went 2-3 last week as they dropped two out of three games to North Florida on the road after splitting their midweek games defeating Tennessee 9-3 and falling to Tennessee Tech 15-7. ETSU is 8-5 on the season in non-conference games having won four of its last five games out of conference. The Bucs are 16-11 all-time against Radford including a 17-8 win at Dedmon Center Park last season. ETSU is led offensively by senior Ben Allen (Kingsport, Tenn.) as he leads the team with a .355 average.

 

The Highlanders (13-11, 7-3 Big South) come into the game having won three out of their last four games sweeping UNC Asheville on the road after losing to Virginia earlier in the week. Radford is led by senior infielder Alex Gregory who is hitting .442 on the year with eight doubles, a triple, two home runs and has driven in 19.
