ETSU Baseball to open conference play against Kennesaw State

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 5, 2009) - The ETSU baseball team is set to open conference play as the Bucs host Kennesaw State in a three-game series starting tomorrow at 7 p.m. at Cardinal Park.

 

ETSU and the Owls will play a doubleheader on Saturday with the first pitch for game one of the doubleheader set for 1 p.m.

 

The Bucs come into the series with a 4-2 record having dropped their last game to Winthrop on Wednesday, 8-4. ETSU is led offensively by junior catcher Danny Petro (Atlanta, Ga.) as he is first on the team in batting average (.409), hits (9) and doubles (5).

 

Kennesaw State has struggled early coming into the series with a 3-4 overall record and a 1-1 record in the Atlantic Sun. The Owls split two games with Campbell last weekend, and are led by senior Martin Baker. The Bucs are 5-4 all-time against Kennesaw State.
