JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 10, 2009) - Following a 2008-09 season that saw the ETSU men's golf team just miss out on a school record 18th trip to the NCAA Championships, the Buccaneers begin their 2009-10 campaign this weekend in the Carpet Capital Collegiate hosted by the Farm Golf Club in Rocky Face, Ga. First round play begins Friday with second and third round play scheduled over the weekend.

The Bucs enter the fall season with a bevy of returning players. Despite the loss of graduated senior Jordan Findlay (Fraserburgh, Scotland), ETSU sports a lineup that includes senior Seamus Power (Waterford, Ireland), the 2009 Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Year, sophomore Michael Stewart (Troon, Scotland), the 2009 Atlantic Sun Conference individual champion and league freshman of the year, junior Rhys Enoch (Bridgend, Wales), a first team All A-Sun pick, and junior Paul O'Kane (Castledawson, Northern Ireland), a second team All A-Sun selection.

Head coach Fred Warren will once again lead a squad with its sights set on a return to the nation's Top 25, a place where the Bucs have been a mainstay over the last two decades. Warren, the 2009 A-Sun coach of the year, has earned that honor 11 times in his Hall of Fame career while coaching in three different conferences.
