WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (Sept. 10, 2009) - Five months removed from earning its second-ever Atlantic Sun Conference championship, the ETSU women's tennis team kicks off its 2009 fall season at the 17th annual William and Mary Fall Invitational this weekend, at the Busch Courts in Williamsburg, Va.

Teams participanting in the three-day event include Duke, Hardvard, Marshall, Memphis, Miami (Fla.), Richmond, Virigina, Virigina Tech, VCU and host William and Mary.

The Lady Bucs return all but two players from last season's championship squad. Leading the way for ETSU is 2009 A-Sun Women's Tennis Player of the Year Yevgenyia Stupak (Kyiv, Ukraine). Recently, the three-time A-Sun First-team member received a ITA singles preseason ranking of 98. This marked the highest ranking of any A-Sun women's tennis player this fall.

In addition to Stupak, the Bucs return junior A-Sun All-tournament honoree Tara Sheets (Gate City, Va.) and sophomore all-conference members Paula Jaime (Madrid, Spain) and Karina Kedzo (Puerto Ordaz, Venezuela).
