JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 19, 2009) - The ETSU volleyball team finished its first full week of preseason practices this past weekend as the Bucs prepare for their season opener on Aug. 28 against Chattanooga in Morehead, Ky.

The Bucs return an experienced squad with ten returning players from 2008 including six starters. 2007 and 2008 Atlantic Sun All-Freshmen selections Desiree Dyck (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan) and McKayla Barber (Columbus, Ind.) highlight the top returners in 2009.

Head coach Lindsey Devine has added a two new players to the squad in Alysa Long (Romulus, Mich.) and Chentel Pate (Nashville, Tenn.) as the Buccaneers look to make the conference tournament for the fifth straight season. Long a transfer from Georgia State has competed at the collegiate level for two years, while Pate will add depth to the ETSU attack.
