MACON, Ga. (Oct. 20, 2009) - For the third time in her career ETSU women's soccer senior Jordan Monty (Mesquite, Texas), was named the Atlantic Sun Conference Offensive Women's Soccer Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Monty, a forward for ETSU, led the Bucs with four points against USC Upstate last Monday, netting a goal and two assists in ETSU's 5-0 win over the Spartans. Four days later the ETSU captain and sports management major scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season, midway through the second half and handed out an assist in the Bucs heartbreaking 3-2 double-overtime loss to Mercer. For the week, the Mesquite, Texas native picked up seven points, leading the Bucs to wins against USC Upstate and league-leading Kennesaw State.

Currently, Monty ranks sixth in the A-Sun in shots (38), eighth in points (13), and ninth in assists (5).

"Jordan really stepped up her game to another level this conference season," said head coach Heather Henson. "She's never has been a player that seeked out individual awards. Jordan has always been a team player first and I know her top goal right now is to lead us into the A-Sun Tournament. That being said, Jordan is such an outstanding student-athlete both on and off the field. She's been a leader for us ever since she's arrived at ETSU and I'm so proud that our league recongized her play this past week with this award."

Monty and the Bucs look to gain some ground in the A-Sun standings as they return to action for a 7:00 p.m., contest this Friday at Florida Gulf Coast.
