Bucs head to Music City for conference series against Lipscomb

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 25, 2010) - The ETSU baseball team is set to head to Nashville, Tenn. to face Lipscomb in a three-game conference series starting Friday at 7 p.m. EST at Dugan Field. The two teams close out the series with a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 2 p.m. EST.

 

The Bucs (14-4, 3-0 A-Sun) have won four straight including a 22-10 beat down of Radford on Wednesday. ETSU is led offensively by junior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) who is first in the Atlantic Sun in slugging (.959), runs scored (30) and home runs (10). The Buccaneer first baseman is also third in the conference in average (.452) and fourth in RBIs (32) and on base percentage (.551).

 

Currently the Buccaneers sit atop the A-Sun with a 3-0 record, and lead the conference in ERA (4.38). ETSU is 8-12 all-time against the Bisons after dropping two of three to Lipscomb in 2009.

 

The Bisons (6-15, 1-2 A-Sun) have dropped seven of their last eight games including four straight after midweek losses to Austin Peay and Vanderbilt. Lipscomb is led by junior Cory Hale who is hitting .324 with six doubles, three home runs and 20 RBIs.
