ETSU Baseball to close out regular season against Kennesaw State

KENNESAW, Ga. (May 19, 2010) - The ETSU baseball team is set to face Kennesaw State in the final series of the year at Stillwell Stadium in Kennesaw, Ga. as the Bucs look to improve upon their tournament seed.

 

The two teams open the series Thursday at 6 p.m. with a doubleheader slated for 1 p.m. on Friday to close out the weekend.

 

ETSU (29-24, 14-10 A-Sun) currently sits in fourth in the Atlantic Sun with the conference tournament only a week away. The Bucs are led by junior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) who is having one of the best seasons of any ETSU player in the program's history. The local product leads the A-Sun with a .441 batting average and 23 home runs.

 

The Bucs are 6-6 all-time against the Owls having dropped five of the last six contests.

 

Kennesaw State (21-31, 10-14 A-Sun) comes in the series having lost four of its last five including two to USC Upstate. The Owls are led by freshman catcher Ronnie Freeman who is hitting .362 with nine home runs and 45 RBI.
