Enoch set to open play at NCAA Championships

Monday, May 31, 2010

OOLETWAH (May 31, 2010) -- ETSU junior Rhys Enoch (Cornwall, England) will take his shot at winning a national title when play begins Tuesday in the NCAA Championships at The Honors Course.

Enoch, who earned a spot in the nationals by finishing tied for first in the NCAA East Regional earlier this month, will compete as an individual against the best players in the country.

"I am excited to move on and advance to nationals, but it's also tough because our team should be contending for the (national) championship," Enoch said after play in the regional. "It's going to be a little strange not having my teammates there, but I am looking forward to competing against the best. Everything came together at the right time for me (at regionals) and I feel like all the hard work paid off."

Enoch, who finished the season with the Bucs top stroke average, is ranked 52nd in the country.
