No. 55 ETSU opens its last home weekend against Jacksonville Friday

(April, 1 2010) - After sweeping all three of its matches in Music City last weekend the No. 55 ETSU men's tennis team looks to extend its four-match winning streak as the Bucs welcome Atlantic Sun Conference rival Jacksonville with a 1 p.m. contest Friday at the Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center. ETSU (11-7, 7-1 A-Sun) opens its last regular season series after gaining momentum in Nashville a weekend ago with wins over Lipscomb (7-0), Belmont (7-0) and Middle Tennessee State (4-1). Individually, junior Charles Bottoni (Bois Guillaume, France) and sophomore Sander Gille (Kuringen, Belgium) have played strong lately, as the pair of Bucs posted wins all four times they've taken the court in the past two weeks. Jacksonville (8-9, A-Sun 4-4) enters the match after losing its last three matchups all at home. The Dolphins dropped contests to Campbell, No. 52 USC Upstate and Missouri-Kansas City to close out the month of March. Individually, freshman Jose Fantova Sicre leads the Dolphin attack with a 12-3 singles record. The first-year JU player has the played the majority of his matches at the No. 2 position. |
