60th-ranked Bucs have now earned back-to-back POW honors this season

 

MACON, Ga. (Feb. 10, 2010) - For the second straight week a ETSU men's tennis player has been named the Atlantic Sun Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week the league announced Wednesday.

 

After sophomore Robin Akser (Ornskoldsvik, Sweden) earned the award last Wednesday, ETSU junior Grega Teraz (Mojstrana, Slovenia) picked up his first career honor after a pair of strong performances against No. 61 Mississippi State and No. 24 Washington over the weekend.

 

Teraz opened the Great Northwest Shootout in Seattle, Washington by rolling past Mississippi State's 125th-ranked Artem llyushin in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2, before outlasting the Huskies' Kyle McMorrow in No. 2 singles on Sunday, 6-3, 6-4.

 

Overall, the business major has won four straight matches, with wins against three ranked teams. In doubles, with teammate Charles Bottoni (Bois Guillaume, France), Teraz has notched three wins, including an 8-4 victory against the Bulldogs' George Copeland and llyushin on Saturday evening.

 

The other top performer from the A-Sun this week was USC Upstate senior Javier Tori.
