Lady Bucs led A-Sun in four statistical categories

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 25, 2010) - Just days after having their Lady Buccaneer playing career come to an end, seniors TaRonda Wiles (Danville, Va.) and Siarre Evans (Griffin, Ga.) continued receiving more accolades on Thursday.

With the 2009-10 basketball season coming to a halt, Wiles captured the Atlantic Sun scoring title after averaging 17.6 points per game, while for the second straight season; Evans won the rebounding crown (10.9).

A year ago, Evans won both the scoring and rebounding titles; however, Wiles received the honor this season - becoming the fifth Lady Buccaneer player in program history to accomplish the feat. Wiles is now joined by current Lady Buccaneer associate head coach DeShawne Blocker, Nicole Hopson, Tiffani Mayes and Evans to win the title.

The dominate duo of Evans and Wiles compiled 84 total victories in their four-year playing career, while combining to score 3,332 points, grab 1,687 rebounds, dish out 569 assists and force 406 steals. Evans wrapped up her career ranking fifth all-time in scoring (1,829) and third in rebounding (1,116) - becoming only the third player in ETSU history to record over 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career. Evans also posted 54 career double-doubles in 126 games played.

Meanwhile, Wiles finished sixth all-time on the ETSU scoring charts (1,503) points, and her 558 total points as a senior ranks eighth for the best single-season effort in school history. In addition, Wiles' 42.4 three-point shooting percentage was the best among conference players this year.

Evans and Wiles will look to continue their basketball careers professionally after graduating from ETSU in May. Evans is on pace to receive her degree in Sport Management and Wiles will graduate with a degree in Criminal Justice and a minor in Social Work.

As a team, ETSU led the conference in scoring offense (77.8), free throw percentage (74.9), rebounding offense (43.4) and rebounding margin (+2.8). The Lady Bucs also broke numerous school records this season - including most wins in a single season (23), consecutive wins (10), winning percentage (.719), conference wins (18), points scored (2,491), rebounds (1,389), free throw percentage (74.9), and three-point field goals made (222).

Despite losing two of its most decorated players in program history, ETSU returns three starters and ten letterwinners in 2010-11.
