Game time changed to 2/4 p.m. on Saturday

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 30, 2010) - The ETSU softball team wraps up its 2010 season on Saturday afternoon when the Lady Bucs take on former Atlantic Sun Conference rival Gardner-Webb. First pitch of the doubleheader is set for 2 p.m. at the ETSU Softball Complex.

ETSU (20-34) is coming off a sweep over Western Carolina Wednesday night and the Lady Bucs look to close out the campaign on a four-game winning streak. Junior Katie Henderson (Jackson, Tenn.) etched her name into the Lady Buccaneer record book against the Catamounts, as the Jackson, Tenn. native became the ninth player in ETSU history to homer twice in one game.

In addition to Henderson, senior Cheniece Cason (Moreno Valley, Calif.) enters the final two games of her career in search of setting some single-season Lady Buccaneer records. Cason, who is hitting .440 over her last 21 games, needs five hits to became the single-season hits leader and four runs scored to take over the lead in that statistical category; while her .359 batting average and .415 on-base percentage are also within reach of being ETSU bests.

Gardner-Webb, who moved from the A-Sun to the Big South in 2008-09, sits 20-29 on the season. The Runnin' Bulldogs have won three straight and five of their last six.

The Runnin' Bulldogs are led by senior first baseman Christa Fullwood who is hitting a team-best .392 (56-143) with 10 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and a team-leading 41 RBI. Meanwhile, senior left-hander Alison Coffey picked up her first win of the season Wednesday afternoon as she no-hit Winston-Salem State, 1-0.

Fans unable to make the trip to Johnson City can follow all the action online courtesy of ETSU live stats.

Saturday is also "Pet Appreciation Day" and the most spirited pet to come out to the doubleheader will win a gift card to PetSmart.
