WILMINGTON, N.C. (May 20, 2010) - After taking a step forward during second round play in the NCAA Championships on Wednesday, ETSU sophomore Nina Muehl (Vienna, Austria) took a step back during the third round action Thursday at the Country Club of Landfall.

Muehl struggled through a round that included two bogeys and a triple bogey and finished at 8-over-par 80, dropping her from a tie for 58th to a tie for 96th on the leaderboard.

"Nina had a rough start today, but kept her head up and battled throughout," said ETSU head coach Stefanie Shelton. "She was unhappy with the end result and the fact that her birdie putts just weren't falling today. Everybody has these days though, and she is ready to come out tomorrow and finish on a high note."

The start was the difference for Muehl on Thursday, as she opened with a double and triple bogey on holes 10 and 11 to start the day at 5-over-par right out of the gate. She finished the rest of the day at 3-over.

Fourth and final round action in the NCAAs is set for Friday. Fans can stay up-to-date by clicking on Golfstat.com for live scoring, or visit ETSUBucs.com at the conclusion of play for a complete wrap up.
