Tuesday, July 14, 2009
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 14, 2009) - ETSU head baseball coach Tony Skole announced the signing of Lee Hall (Fleming Island, Fla.) and Alex Reynolds (Johnson City, Tenn.) to the 2009-10 Buccaneer class on Tuesday.
"Both of these young men are tremendous people and will be great additions to our campus," said Skole.
Hall, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound, left-handed pitcher comes from Lake Sumter Community College where he finished the 2009 season with a 3.07 ERA and 69 strikeouts and was named to the Mid-Fla. All-Conference Team. At Fleming Island HS, Lee was named All-State and First-Team All-District as a senior tallying a 10-1 record with a 0.77 ERA and 100 strikeouts.
"Our staff thought that last season Lee was one of the top junior college left handed pitchers in the entire state of Florida," Skole said. "We believe that he will make a huge contribution to our pitching staff. He can really pitch the baseball and is a fierce competitor. Lee will immediately make us better."
Reynolds, a 5-foot-9, 185-pound, middle infielder comes from Daniel Boone High School where he was named to the Johnson City Press Super 22. The Johnson City native was also a TCBA All-Region selection, a Tricitiessports.com All-Conference Team selection, and a First-Team All-Conference selection. Reynolds finished the 2009 season with a .415 average driving in 31 runs with nine home runs as a second baseman.
"It has been exciting watching Alex turn himself into a Division I baseball prospect," Skole said. "Every time we saw him play over the last two years he just kept getting better and better. Alex is an old school type player that does many things well. He is a tough kid who really plays hard. Our fans are going to love watching him play."
Hall and Reynolds join Kerry Doane (Davie, Fla.), Andrew Green (Powell, Tenn.), Scott McNally (Acworth, Ga.), Ben Booker (Knoxville, Tenn.) Derek Niesman (Wellington, Fla.), and Jamie Crawford (Kingsport, Tenn.) on the 2009-10 signing class.
