From the Pitch: With Guilherme and Blaike Week 3
Blaike Woodruff Wednesday, September 15, 2010 JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 15, 2010) - ETSU men's soccer players Guilherme Reis (Belo Horizonte, Brazil) and Blaike Woodruff (Georgetown, Texas) will be stopping by throughout the season to provide a weekly blog on life as an ETSU men's soccer player. Here is week three of From the Pitch featuring Blaike Woodruff.
September 15
Pre-season is over and we are now into regular season play. We are all excited to see what's in store for the season to come and how this team will continue to grow as a whole. Weeks go by and the bonding of the team seems to be only getting stronger. Win or lose we always have each other's backs, like a family.
We still have a lot to work on, but high expectations are in store for this team. We have the talent and ability, and it's just a matter of progressing our individual talents as a team. Working together and for each other is the key to our success. Building the winning mentality and the fact that average is never good enough.
Our opening home game tomorrow night under the lights will be a good test for us. Bringing in what we have been focusing on during training and transferring it to the game. The boys are very motivated and excited to get a win out of tonight. Winthrop is a decent side, but there is no excuse for us not to come away with a victory. Tonight night is where we build our winning mentality.
