JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 24, 2010) - The ETSU women's soccer team extended its win streak to three games Friday night as the Bucs picked up a 2-0 win over Lipscomb at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

"This was a good win for the team," said head coach Heather Henson. "Our bench played really well coming in and sparking the team with two goals tonight. Our defense also played tough keeping Lipscomb off of the board. We are going to enjoy this win tonight, but tomorrow we will start getting ready for a good Belmont team."

The Bucs (6-2-1, 2-0-0 A-Sun) outshot the Bisons (4-7-0, 0-3-0 A-Sun) 11-4 in the contest putting six shots on frame, while corners were even at 2-all.

Junior Megan Masch (Virginia Beach, Va.) picked up her second straight shutout as she only had to effort two saves on the night.

ETSU grabbed a 1-0 lead in the 31st minute after a Courtney Deem (Evansville, Ind.) goal from 25-yards out as Lucy Goffe (Birmingham, England) played a ball back to an open Deem who fired a shot over the head of Lipscomb keeper Erin Zerio.

In the second half, the Buccaneers quickly extended their lead to 2-0 in the 59th minute when Kayla White (Virginia Beach, Va.) settled a loose ball after a Zerio miscue and deposited a shot into the back of the net.

The ETSU defense held on to preserve the shutout cutting off a couple late chances by the Bisons to make the final 2-0. With the shutout, the Bucs have not allowed a goal in 272 minutes of play.

ETSU is back in action on Sunday at 2 p.m. as the Bucs close out a five-game home stand against Belmont.
