Mercer blanks ETSU women's soccer 3-0

MACON, Ga. (Oct. 15, 2010) - The ETSU women's soccer team fell to Mercer 3-0 in Atlantic Sun play Friday night at Bear Field in Macon, Ga.
 
Mercer (6-8-1, 5-3-0 A-Sun) outshot the Bucs (7-7-1, 3-5-0 A-Sun) 14-6 in the match as the Bears had an 8-3 advantage in corners.
 
The Bears went in front 1-0 in the 41st minute as Lizzy Shaughnessy beat a couple ETSU defenders and sent a shot past keeper Megan Masch (Virginia Beach, Va.) into the goal.
 
In the 71st minute, Lauren Johnson put Mercer ahead 2-0 as she headed a pass from Raschelle Riley on a set piece into the back of the net.
 
Emily Milone capped off the scoring for the Bears in the 86th minute as she netted a shot from 15-yards out to make the final 3-0.
 
The Bucs are back in action on Saturday at 1 p.m. as they head to Kennesaw, Ga. to face Kennesaw State.
