JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 17, 2010) - The ETSU men's soccer team increased its home win streak to ten games as the Bucs defeated North Florida 1-0 in conference action Sunday afternoon at Summers-Taylor Stadium.

The Bucs (9-4-0, 4-2-0 A-Sun) are a perfect 7-0 at home this season outscoring their opponents 15-3. ETSU outshot the Ospreys (2-8-0, 1-4-0 A-Sun) 11-8 in the contest and had a 5-2 advantage in shots on goal. The Bucs also led in corner kicks 6-3.

Keeper Ronnie Hreha (Asheville, N.C.) picked up his second straight shutout as he improved to 6-2-0 on the season.

ETSU missed a golden opportunity early in the contest as sophomore Alesi Osorio (Austin, Texas) had his shot on an empty net knocked away by an Osprey defender to keep the match scoreless in the 5th minute.

Sophomore Colin Pugh (Dublin, Ireland) just missed putting ETSU in front in the 32nd minute as he got behind the North Florida back line and fired a shot on goal, but UNF's Andrew Calise made a nice save to keep the Bucs off of the board.

In the 41st minute, Pugh would not be denied a second time as freshman David Geno (Kingsport, Tenn.) played a ball through to Pugh who slotted a shot past Calise into the goal to give the Buccaneers a 1-0 advantage.

The Ospreys picked up their offensive intensity in the second half firing seven shots but the ETSU defense played strong to preserve the shutout and pick up the win.

The Bucs head to Nashville, Tenn. next weekend to face Belmont and Lipscomb as they look to secure a top seed in the A-Sun tournament. For more information on ETSU men's soccer and all other Buccaneer athletic news please visit www.ETSUBucs.com.
