Senior leader has Lady Bucs off to 2-0 start for first time since 1999-2000

MACON, Ga. (Nov. 16, 2010) - Senior captain Tara Davis (Murfreesboro, Tenn.) put up career numbers in wins against Chattanooga and Richmond over the weekend, and the Lady Buccaneer standout was recognized for her efforts by being tabbed Atlantic Sun Player of the Week, announced the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Davis opened the year with a career-tying 23-point effort in the 77-60 victory at Chattanooga on Friday night. In addition to scoring, Davis also dished out seven assists and pulled down five rebounds against the 17th-ranked team in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 Poll. Then, on Sunday afternoon inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center, Davis netted a career-high 27 points en route to guiding the Lady Bucs to a 96-84 win over Richmond. Like she did against the Lady Mocs, Davis once again ended with seven assists and five rebounds versus the Spiders.

For the week, Davis averaged 25 points, seven assists, five rebounds and 2.5 steals in 36.5 minutes of work, marking the second career weekly honor for the Nursing major. Davis also set a career high and ETSU record with a 14-for-14 effort at the free throw line vs. Richmond and she has hit 25 straight freebies dating back to last season.

Davis and the Lady Bucs return to action Friday night when ETSU hosts Appalachian State to kick off homecoming weekend inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center. Tip is set for 7 p.m.
