ETSU women's soccer excels in the classroom in 2010
Saturday, November 20, 2010 JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Nov. 19, 2010) - The ETSU women's soccer team was named one of the top ten academic teams in the country announced the National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association (NSCAA) earlier this week.
"I am very proud of our ladies with their commitment and efforts both on the field and in the classroom," said head coach Heather Henson. "This is just another example of quality of the young women that we have in our program and the expectations they have as scholar-athletes."
The Bucs rank sixth in the country with a 3.58 team GPA. ETSU has received the NSCAA Team Academic award in three of the last four seasons.
A total of 630 soccer teams (194 men, 436 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2009-10 academic year.
