CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (Dec. 28, 2010) - After defeating Holy Cross by 22 points (90-68) Tuesday evening, the ETSU women's basketball team will take on host Virginia in the championship of the Marriott Cavalier Classic Wednesday night. Tip is set for 7 p.m. inside John Paul Jones Arena.

Freshman Destiny Mitchell (Bluffton, Ga.) scored 20 points to lead four Lady Buccaneer players in double figures against the Crusaders. As a team, ETSU shot a season-high 54-percent, while also draining a season-best 38 field goals.

ETSU (4-6) will be facing Virginia for only the third time in program history and the first since Jan. 2, 1983. The Cavaliers have won both meetings in the series.

The Cavaliers (8-5) advanced to Wednesday's championship after defeating North Carolina A&T, 88-59.
