ETSU Women's Soccer announces the signing of seven players to the 2011 class

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 3, 2011) - ETSU women's soccer head coach Adam Sayers announced the signing of seven players to the 2011 signing class on Thursday.
 
The 2011 signing class includes Tessa Johnson (Knoxville, Tenn.), Jenna Caudle (Middletown, Md.), Kristi Davis (Edmond, Okla.), Kim Elmore (Salem, Va.), Emilee Engelhaupt (Charlotte, N.C.), Taylor Maxson (Lewisville, Texas), and Summer Peterson (Lorton, Va.).
 
"I am very much looking forward to working with this incoming class," Sayers said. "They each possess strong pedigrees and lots of experience, and will provide us with several options, in addition to providing flexibility and depth within the squad. They have the potential to contribute significantly to the team and program here at ETSU."
 
Tessa Johnson (F/MF) (Knoxville, Tenn.) (Halls HS)
 
Johnson joins the Bucs from Halls High School where she lettered four years for coach Mike Horner. While at Halls, Johnson was named All-Region in 2008 and 2010. She was also named All-District from 2008-10. A member of the FC Alliance's 93 Black club team, Johnson has led her team to the Region III Regionals in 2007, 2008 and 2010 and to the Tennessee State finals from 2007-10. Johnson was also a member of the Tennessee ODP team from 2007-09.
 
Jenna Caudle (F/MF) (Middletown, Md.) (Middletown HS)
 
Caudle is a four year letterwinner from Middletown High School where she played for Heather Kline. The team captain, Caudle earned All-State, All-Region honors in 2010 as the Knights won the Maryland State Championship. Caudle was also named the 2010 Fredrick News Post Co-Player of the Year. At the club level, Caudle helped guide the FC Fredrick 92/93 club team to the 2008 Maryland State Cup Championship and Region I semifinals.
 
Kristi Davis (F/D) (Edmond, Okla.) (Edmond North HS)
 
Davis comes to ETSU from Edmond North High School where she is a four-year letterwinner for coach Austin Risenhoover. Davis has helped guide the Huskies to the 2010 Class 6A State Championship and also to the 6A State finals in 2008 as the team has compiled a 42-5 record in a little over three years. A member of the Oklahoma FC's 93 White, Davis helped her club reach the state finals in 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. Davis also played two years for the Oklahoma's 92 State ODP team and attended the sub-regional and regional ODP camps in 2009.
 
Kim Elmore (MF) (Salem, Va.) (Salem HS)
 
Elmore is a four-year letterman from Salem High School where she plays for Josh Jones. In 2010 Elmore was named First Team All-State, First Team All-Region and First Team All-District. The captain was also named All-Region in 2009. Elmore plays for the Roanoke Star Soccer Club and was a member of the Virginia ODP squad for four years.
 
Emilee Engelhaupt (MF) (Charlotte, N.C.) (Ardrey Kell HS)
 
Engelhaupt joins the Bucs from Ardrey Kell High School where she was a three-year letterwinner for coach Jeff Mercado. While at Ardrey Kell, Engelhaupt earned All-Region honors in 2010 and All-Conference honors in 2009 and 2010. Engelhaupt was a part of the 2008 and 2009 North Carolina 4A State Runner-Up squads. Engelhaupt also plays for the Charlotte Soccer Academy (CSA). While playing for CSA, Engelhaupt was named an Elite Club National League Player four times from 2008-11. Engelhaupt helped guide CSA to the two state championships in 2008 and 2010 and to three Southern Regional Championships in 2008, 2009 and 2010. Engelhaupt was also a member of the ODP Region III State Team from 2007-08 and took part in the ODP National Development Camp in 2008. Engelhaupt had also been a member of the Ardrey Kell swim team from 2009-11
 
Taylor Maxson (MF) (Lewisville, Texas) (Billy Ryan HS)
 
Maxson comes to ETSU from Billy Ryan High School where she played for Raiford Malone. A four-year letterman, Maxson has posted 33 goals and 23 assists while playing for the Raiders including netting a season-best 12 goals as a junior in 2010. In 2009, Maxson helped Billy Ryan HS reach the Texas Regional semifinals as the Raiders posted an impressive 24-2-3 record. The team captain earned All-District and All-Region honors in 2010.
 
Summer Peterson (MF) (Lorton, Va.) (South County Secondary School)
 
Peterson joins the Buccaneers from South County Secondary School where she plays for Maureen Saale. Peterson was a member of the 2009 team that reached the Virginia Regional semifinals. A member of the SYA Arsenal club team, Peterson helped guide her club to the 2010 Jefferson Cup Premier Championship, 2010 Columbia Invitational Championship and 2010 SYA Cardinal Cup Championship.
