Baseball Bucs jump to No. 15 in the RPI

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (March 9, 2011) - With three weeks in the books, the ETSU baseball team is among some impressive company nationally as the Bucs have risen to a No. 15ranking in the RPI by WarrenNolan.com.
The Buccaneers (7-2, 1-0 A-Sun) lead the way for the Atlantic Sun which ranks fifth in conference RPI. The A-Sun currently has five teams that boast a top 100 RPI including Stetson (30), Jacksonville (32), Kennesaw State (34) and Campbell (72), while also holding the fifth-best winning percentage in the country as the league only trails the Southeastern Conference, Conference USA, the Atlantic Coast Conference and the Big XII.
ETSU currently boasts a top 50 strength of schedule, and is 4-2 against teams in the RPI top 100 and 2-1 against the RPI top 50. The Bucs are just ahead of national powerhouses Cal State Fullerton (16), Texas (18) and Georgia Tech (21) in the RPI.
