No. 75 men's tennis returns home to take on Belmont and Lipscomb

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Mar. 10, 2011) - Following two decisive victories to close out a three-match Florida road swing, the No. 75 ETSU men's tennis team returns on Friday and Saturday against Belmont and Lipscomb.
The Bucs will play Belmont on Friday at 12 noon before squaring off with Lipscomb on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. The matches are scheduled to be played on campus at the Buddy Hartsell Tennis Center. The Friday match against Belmont will be moved to the Bristol Racquet Club if the bad weather continues in the Johnson City area.
After the two straight victories, ETSU now sits 6-5 (2-1 A-Sun) overall heading into the weekend.
Juan Ramirez (Asuncion, Paraguay) leads the Bucs in singles play with a 6-4 overall record, including a perfect 2-0 mark in A-Sun play. Ramirez has also recorded five straight singles victories.
Meanwhile, Belmont is looking for its first victory of the season after starting with an 0-5 (0-2 A-Sun) record. Rafael Matos leads the Bruins with two singles wins during dual play.
Lipscomb heads into the weekend with a 5-4 (2-0 A-Sun) record after beating Mercer and Kennesaw State last weekend. Oliver Strecker leads the way for the Bisons with an impressive 8-1 overall mark in singles play. Strecker enters the weekend with a seven-match winning streak.
