Bucs to host Lipscomb in key conference weekend

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 7, 2011)
- The ETSU baseball team will look to make a move in the conference standings as the Bucs host Lipscomb in a key Atlantic Sun conference series starting Friday at 7:05 p.m. at Cardinal Park.
 
The two teams are slated to play Saturday at 2:05 p.m., while first pitch of the series finale is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Sunday.
 
ETSU (17-9, 8-5 A-Sun) mounted a 9-4 comeback win against Appalachian State on Wednesday night as the Bucs scored nine runs in their final two at-bats to defeat their former Southern Conference rival. The Buccaneers currently rank third in the A-Sun offensively hitting .306 as team with 55 doubles, 41 home runs and 172 RBI.
 
Senior Derek Trent (Kingsport, Tenn.) leads the Buccaneers with a .368 average, while Bo Reeder (Cookeville, Tenn.) has a team-best ten homers.
 
Lipscomb leads the all-time series 13-10 despite the Bucs having won three of the last four meetings.
 
The Bisons (11-18, 3-6 A-Sun) come into the series having lost three straight contests. Lipscomb ranks 10th in the conference in offense hitting .257 as a team, but the Bisons boast the fourth best ERA (4.29).
 
Richie Goodenow leads the way offensively for Lipscomb hitting .368 with two home runs and 13 RBI, while Saturday starter Connor Sinclair has a team-best 2.20 ERA.
