NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 16, 2011) - Belmont's Matt Hamann threw a complete game three-hit shutout as the ETSU baseball team dropped the second game of the doubleheader to the Bruins 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Shelby Park in Nashville, Tenn.

Hamann struck out nine in the contest as he improved to 4-1 for Belmont (19-17, 8-9 A-Sun), while sophomore Derek Bushey (Richmond, Va.) suffered his third loss of the year despite an outstanding performance on the mound. Bushey notched his second straight complete game for the Bucs (22-11, 11-7 A-Sun) going 8.0 innings limiting the Bruins to two runs scattering eight hits with a season-best seven strikeouts.

Left fielder Derek Hamblen put Belmont on the board in the first inning for the second straight game as he homered to left center to make the score 1-0.

The Bruins increased their advantage to 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth after back-to-back singles by Jared Breen and Zac Mitchell and a sac fly to center by Dylan Craig.

ETSU loaded the bases in the top of the ninth with one out on a Dylan Pratt (Johnson City, Tenn.) walk, but Hamann would get Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) to hit into a double play to end the contest.

The Bucs return to action tomorrow at 2 p.m. ET in the series final with Belmont. For more information on ETSU baseball and all other Buccaneer athletic news please visit www.ETSUBucs.com.
