JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (April 29, 2011)
- The ETSU baseball team is set to Manhattan in a three-game non-conference series in what has been tabbed by ESPN as the mid-major matchup of the week.

The Bucs and Jaspers open the series Saturday with a doubleheader slated for 1:05 p.m. at Cardinal Park, while the series finale will be Sunday at 1:05 p.m.

ETSU (24-15, 12-10 A-Sun) is coming off of its most productive game of the season after pummeling Eastern Kentucky 18-7 in a mid-week game. Senior Paul Hoilman (Johnson City, Tenn.) has been locked in for the Bucs going 9-for-18 in the last four games with three doubles, four home runs and eight RBI.

This is the first meeting between the Buccaneers and Manhattan. ETSU is 18-2 all-time against teams from the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference including a 4-2 record in 2011.

The Jaspers (23-12, 14-0 MAAC) have been on a roll going 21-3 since March 15 including a perfect 14-0 record in conference play. Manhattan is currently one of only two schools in the country to post a perfect league mark thus far.

Coming into the series, the Jaspers have won eight straight including a 20-10 slugfest against New York Tech on Tuesday. Manhattan features six starters hitting over .300 led by senior third baseman Chad Salem. Salem is hitting .388 with 14 doubles, eight home runs and 43 RBI.
