Baseball Bucs kick off tournament play with No. 2 Jacksonville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 24, 2011)
- The ETSU baseball team will open Atlantic Sun conference tournament play on Wednesday at 4 p.m. EDT with the No.2 seed Jacksonville at Dugan Field on the campus of Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn. as the Bucs look to get win their first ever A-Sun Championship.
 
ETSU (36-19, 16-12 A-Sun) has posted a 3-3 record in tournament play in the last two years including wins in both of their opening games. This is the first postseason matchup between the Bucs and Dolphins. Jacksonville (34-20, 18-11 A-Sun) leads the all-time series 11-7 after taking two of three from ETSU at Cardinal Park earlier this year.
 
Sophomore Andrew Green (Powell, Tenn.) and junior Dylan Pratt (Johnson City, Tenn.) both will look to extend their hit streaks against the Dolphins as Green has a season-best 17-game hit streak, while Pratt has posted a hit in 12 straight contests.
 
The Bucs currently lead the country with 85 home runs as a team. ETSU ranks third in the A-Sun with a .304 average behind JU who leads the conference and is tenth in the country hitting .317. The Dolphins are led by 2011 Player of the Year Adam Brett Walker. Walker is hitting .415 with 22 doubles, 12 home runs and 69 RBI.
