Reeder named Olerud Award Semifinalist

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (June 10, 2011) - Junior Bo Reeder (Cookeville, Tenn.) continued to add to his national honors as he was named one of ten semifinalists for the John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Award, the College Baseball Hall of Fame announced on Friday.
 
The Olerud Award recognizes a player who makes an impact both on the mound and at the plate.
Reeder was recently selected as a Louisville Slugger First Team All-American utility player after  hitting .316 with 16 doubles, 15 home runs and 59 RBI as a third baseman, and also shattered the Atlantic Sun single season saves record after posting a nation-best 18 saves as a closer.
 
The junior two-way player joins Ben Koenigsfeld of Army, Brian Hernandez of Florida, Cody Fick of Evansville, Danny Hultzen of Virginia , Mike McGee of Florida State, Nick Ramirez of Cal State Fullerton, Paul Snieder of Northwestern and Zack Jones of San Jose State as a semifinalist.
 
The winner of the Olerud Award will be announced in Lubbock, Texas on July 3 as part of the College Baseball Hall of Fame's Night of Champions.
