JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Oct. 18, 2011) – With the basketball season right around the corner, both the ETSU men’s and women’s basketball teams met the media on Tuesday afternoon during media day activities held inside the ETSU/MSHA Athletic Center.

The Lady Bucs have been practicing since opening camp on Oct. 2, while the men’s team held their first practice last Friday.

Both teams will play a pair of exhibition games inside the Dome as the men host Tusculum during homecoming weekend on Saturday, Oct. 29 and Carson-Newman on Nov. 5. Meanwhile, the Lady Bucs play Carson-Newman (Nov. 3) and King (Nov. 7).

Fans can catch their first glimpse of the Bucs and Lady Bucs this Thursday, Oct. 20 during the Bluenanza Tipoff Celebration, presented by Johnson City Honda. The event begins with a complimentary indoor tailgate buffet for ETSU students and BASA members who are Buccaneer season ticket holders at 6 p.m., followed by the event itself at 7 p.m. Admission is free to the public.

The Bluenanza – which will be highlighted by scrimmages for both the ETSU men’s and women’s teams, a 3-point shooting contest, and a slam dunk contest – will also feature prize giveaways for both students and fans.
