This Week in ETSU Athletics: February 27 – March 4
Monday, February 27, 2012 Men’s Basketball This week: The Bucs (16-13, 10-8 A-Sun) will head to Macon, Ga. for the Atlantic Sun Championship. The No. 4-seeded Bucs will take on No. 5 North Florida, Thursday at 2:30 p.m. in a quarterfinal matchup. The winner will play the winner of the No. 1/No. 8 matchup between Belmont and Jacksonville. Last week: ETSU closed out the regular season on a three game winning streak. The Bucs earned a road victory at Lipscomb before returning home to pick up wins against Stetson and Florida Gulf Coast. Coverage: ETSU’s tournament games will be broadcasted live through the Buccaneer Sports Network. Each game of the tournament will also be shown live on ESPN3. Women’s Basketball Last week: ETSU got a big home win against Stetson on Thursday to clinch a spot in the A-Sun Championship. The Lady Bucs closed out the season with a hard fought loss against Florida Gulf Coast. Coverage: ETSU’s tournament games will be broadcasted live through the Buccaneer Sports Network. Each game of the tournament will also be shown live on ESPN3. Baseball This week: The ETSU (4-2) baseball team continues its long homestand to start the season as the Bucs host Indiana for a three-game series beginning on Friday. Last week: The Bucs went 3-0 in their weekend series against Saint Joseph’s. Coverage: Live stats will be available for each game at ETSUBucs.com. Softball Last week: The Bucs went 2-3 at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn. ETSU picked up wins against UT-Martin and Niagara, while dropping games against Valparaiso, Troy and Chattanooga. Track and Field This week: The ETSU track and field team will head to the Virginia Tech Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday. Women's Tennis This week: The ETSU women's tennis team (1-4) hits the road to face UNC Asheville on Thursday before returning home for a pair of matches against Liberty and Western Carolina on Saturday and Sunday.
