Ten Buccaneer athletic programs earn team GPAs of 3.0 or higher
JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (July 9, 2013) – As the fall semester approaches, ETSU student-athletes will look to build on a stellar 2013 spring academic campaign.
Of the 264 Buccaneer student-athletes, 181 (69 percent) were named to the Buccaneer Honor Roll for achieving a GPA of 3.0 or higher during the 2013 spring academic semester, while 69 earned Dean’s List recognition after posting GPAs of 3.7 or higher. Twenty-five student-athletes attained perfect 4.0 GPAs.
ETSU’s overall cumulative student-athlete GPA of 3.19 during the spring was higher than that of non-athletes at ETSU (3.03 GPA).
Ten of the 14 Buccaneer athletic programs garnered team GPAs of 3.0 or higher. All but one program attained a team GPA of at least 2.7.
According to the most recent graduation success rates, 52 percent of ETSU’s student-athletes received a degree, well above the 42 percent four-class average at ETSU.
Of the available data, all but one ETSU athletic program had a higher graduation success rate than the federal rate.
