Calipari, Few, Alford to participate in “Holding Court” event

ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas to host evening that will include current college coaching stars, as well as former coaches Bobby Cremins, Les Robinson and Sonny Smith

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 17, 2013) – The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics announced Tuesday that it has confirmed a star-studded trio of current college head coaches that will be joining ESPN college basketball analyst Jay Bilas during the program’s “Holding Court” event scheduled for Oct. 8 inside the Carnegie Hotel.

Kentucky head coach John Calipari, Gonzaga head coach Mark Few and UCLA head coach Steve Alford will join the event live via video conferencing from their respective campuses, while former head coaches Bobby Cremins, Les Robinson and Sonny Smith will be on hand inside the Carnegie Hotel to share stories, discuss X’s and O’s, and game philosophy in preparation for the start of the 2013-14 season.

ETSU head coach Murry Bartow will also be on hand as the coaching “host” for the evening, which is presented by Johnson City Honda. This special ETSU Basketball event will begin at 6 p.m. on the night of Oct. 8 inside the Carnegie Hotel’s Grand Soldiers Ballroom, and the cost is $100 per person, which includes a cocktail buffet. Other corporate sponsors for the event include Carnegie Hotel and One Stop Wine and Spirits.
