"Getting to know" Megan Devine

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 18, 2013) – Each week during the volleyball season members of the ETSU volleyball team will be featured in a segment called “Getting to Know You.”

The third volleyball player to be featured is senior outside hitter Megan Devine (Kingsport, Tenn.). During the preseason, the players were given the questionnaire, which can be found below, and each of them submitted their answers. Below are the response by Rutledge:

What’s the number one thing on your bucket list?  

  • Play professional volleyball overseas

If you could be on any reality TV show what would it be and why?

  • Pretty Little Liars

What is one thing you can’t live without and why?

  • My family… They are my support system and my number one fans.

If you were stranded on an island what are two things you would bring with you?

  • A machete and matches

Is there any meaning behind your number you wear?

  • I’ve been wearing the #3 since I started high school and it’s my lucky number.

If you could be one person for a day, who would you be and why?

  • Misty May-Treanor… She lives the dream of being a professional athlete and getting paid to play the sport she loves.

If you weren’t playing volleyball, what sport would you play?

  • Basketball

Do you have a game day tradition?

  • Nap, training room, hang out in locker room, Jamie (Rutledge) braids my hair, listen to music, review scouting report for the game, and eat pregame snack.

What are your plans after graduation? 

  • Play overseas and get my master’s degree.

What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?

  • I cry in almost every movie.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the off-season?

  • Hang out with friends and go on the lake.
