JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Sept. 18, 2013) – The ETSU women’s soccer team will look to extend its three-match unbeaten streak when it hosts Francis Marion Thursday, Sept. 19 at 7:00 p.m. The Buccaneers have allowed just one goal in the past three contests.

LAST TIME OUT

  • The Buccaneers (3-3-1) played to a 1-1 draw on the road against Western Carolina Sunday, Sept. 15.
  • Freshman Jenny Pöltl (Steinberg-Dorfl, Austria) scored her third goal of the season.
  • Sophomore Hannah Short (Bristol, England) recorded an assist in just her second game of the season. She also had a goal in ETSU’s 7-0 win at Alabama A&M.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Anna Yancey (Rosemark, Tenn.) was just 23 minutes away from recording her third consecutive shutout. Yancey made 10 saves on 34 Western Carolina shot attempts.

SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS

  • The Patriots (0-5-0) have lost three of their five matches by one goal.
  • Francis Marion is coming off a 3-0 loss at East Carolina Sept. 13.
  • The Patriots are paced by Elizabeth Asare, who has recorded two goals on the season.
