Herrera picks up 100th career win; Bucs down UNCG 6-1

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 24, 2018) – The ETSU men’s tennis team hosted the UCNG Spartans in their first conference match of the season. The Bucs downed the Spartans with a score of 6-1 at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex on Saturday morning. The Bucs improve to 5-4 overall and 1-0 in conference, while the Spartans drop to 4-3 and 0-1 in the conference.

Bucs set to take on UNCG in first conference match

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Feb. 23, 2018) – The ETSU men’s tennis team will welcome the UNCG Spartans on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 10:30 a.m. The match will be played outdoors at the Mullins Tennis Complex, which is located next to the football stadium. This will also be the first match played on their home court outside for the Bucs.

Bucs top Tennessee Tech in home opener

BRISTOL, Tenn. (Feb. 18, 2018) -- The ETSU men’s tennis team picked up a 6-1 win against Tennessee Tech, in their home opener at the Bristol Racquet Club on Sunday morning. This is now the Bucs’ second straight win, as they improve to 4-4 on the season.

BRISTOL, Tenn. (Feb. 17, 2018) – The ETSU men’s tennis team will host Tennessee Tech in their first home match of the season. The match will be played indoors at the Bristol Racquet Club, with first serve set for 11:00 a.m. ETSU leads the all-time series with a 22-14 record, with the last meeting coming in 2015.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Jan. 20, 2018) The ETSU Men’s Tennis finished 1-1 on the day to begin their season. ETSU cruised past Florida A&M winning 4-0, but fell to #20 ranked Florida State, 4-1. Head coach Martin Stiegwardt earned his first win as a head coach and his first win at ETSU.

Men’s Tennis opens season in Florida with three matches

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (Jan. 19, 2018) --To open their season, the ETSU men’s tennis team will travel to the sunshine state to kick off play. Herrera wins singles championship at CCB Collegiate Invitational

BIRMGINHAM, Ala. (Nov. 12, 2017) – In the final day of singles action at the CCB Collegiate Invitational, Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) won the singles championship in the Crimson Singles Draw. Herrera defeated Tim Dollman from UAB, 5-7, 7-5, 6-3 to secure the win.

Markesini enters the 2017-18 season ranked 88th, which is the highest ITA ranking in ETSU tennis history

TEMPE, Ariz. (September 13, 2017) – Senior Robert Herrera (Barcelona, Spain) is officially in the top 125 Oracle ITA Division I men’s singles rankings as announced by the ITA on Tuesday. Herrera is currently ranked 113, the only Southern Conference selection.

Scott Carter to be named new ETSU AD in September

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (Aug. 22, 2017) – ETSU President Dr. Brian Noland announced Tuesday a transition plan for the leadership of the Buccaneers’ Department of Intercollegiate Athletics, as former ETSU football standout and current Senior Associate Athletic Director/Chief Operating Officer Scott Carter will assume the role of director of intercollegiate athletics in September.

ETSU Places 193 Student-Athletes on 2016-17 SoCon Honor Roll

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (July 6, 2017) – The Southern Conference released its 2016-17 academic honor roll on Thursday, and ETSU placed 193 student-athletes on the list. In total, a league-record 2,100 student-athletes from the 10 member institutions and 13 associate members earned the distinction.
