JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (September 22, 2005) -The ETSU women's softball team enjoyed a break from fall practice earlier this week to donate their time to the Special Olympics. The girls spent their morning at Leisure Lanes bowling with members of their own team, as well as children and adults from the Special Olympics.

"I want these girls to be able to relate with kids from all walks of life," said softball coach Andrea Roberts. "I want them to be thankful for the things they have and understand that there is life outside of playing softball."

The softball team is becoming very active with donating their time to the Special Olympics. They will be participating in another bowling event on Tuesday, September 27th, and also the Special Olympics field day which will take place next spring inside ETSU's Memorial Center.

The ETSU Department of Intercollegiate Athletics takes pride in its community service activities and strives for 100 percent participation from its student-athletes, coaches and administrators throughout the year.
