ROCK HILL, S.C. (March 12, 2006) - The ETSU softball team suffered a 4-3 setback at the hands of UNC Wilmington on the final day of action at the Adidas/Winthrop Invitational. Following a 3-2 performance on the weekend, the Lady Bucs stand at 7-16 overall.
Down 3-1, UNCW engineered a three-run seventh to clinch the victory and move to 15-11 on the season. UNCW's comeback began with a Brittany Wilkins reaching on an error by ETSU hurler Brittney Lehrschall (Leland, N.C.).
Meghan Murray then cracked a double, followed by an RBI-single from Whitney Knudsen. The Seahawks would get another run on a sac-fly from Ali Gardiner. UNCW scored its final run of the inning on a double off the bat of Jennifer Bosely.
ETSU managed just four hits on the game, compared the UNCW's nine base knocks, while both clubs made a pair of errors.
