ETSU softball signs Gaynord to National Letter of Intent

Johnson City, Tenn. (December 10, 2002) - East Tennessee State head softball coach Amy Fuller announced Stephanie Gaynord has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Buccaneers next spring. Gaynord is currently a senior at Osbourn High School in Manassas, Va, where she plays shortstop and second base. As a junior in 2002, Gaynord hit for a .372 batting average, stole 18 bases and struck out just four times in 86 at bats under head coach Renee Leake. A versatile athlete, Gaynord has lettered in basketball (3), volleyball (3), and softball (4) at Osbourn High School earning numerous most valuable player awards in all three sports. Gaynord is also a member of the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America and plans to major in Business at ETSU.
