CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Sept. 25, 2004) - The Lady Bucs softball squad began their fall season last weekend competing in the Charlotte Fall Tournament. With games versus host Charlotte and fellow Southern Conference competitor Furman, ETSU planned to use the weekend to see how the newcomers and veterans worked together as well as what to focus on for the upcoming 2005 spring season.

ETSU posted a 5-1 win in the morning match-up versus Charlotte and battled Furman for two wins in the afternoon 3-0 and 2-1 respectively. Behind a strong pitching performance from the Lady Bucs squad, head coach Amy Fuller was also very pleased with the adjustments the hitters made at the plate.

"We played very well this weekend as a group. Our newcomers worked very well with our returning players from last year. Heading into our second weekend of fall competition, we are very happy with the progress our team has made thus far during our training sessions," coach Fuller said.

ETSU finished weekend competition with three solid wins and a sense of what needs to be worked on throughout the remainder of the fall season. The Lady Bucs will be back in action when they travel to Appalachian State on Oct. 3rd to take part in the Appalachian State Fall Tournament in Boone, N.C. Check for scores and updates.
