MACON, Ga. (May 8, 2006) - Junior Stephanie Gaynord (Manassas, Va.) has been named Atlantic Sun Softball Player of the Week, announced by conference offices on Monday.  The award is the second in-a-row for Gaynord, and the third for the Lady Bucs this spring.

Gaynord went 3-for-6 in ETSU's doubleheader sweep over Lipscomb last weekend, posting four RBIs, three runs scored, two doubles and a homerun.  Gaynord has been on fire as of late, hitting .423 over the last eight games, including 11 hits, nine RBIs, and four long balls.

The resurgent Lady Bucs, who have won seven of their last eight, are the fifth seed in this weekend's A-Sun Tournament, in Boca Raton, Fla.  ETSU's opening contest will be against second-seeded Florida Atlantic, beginning at 11 a.m., on Thursday, May 11.
